I love Firefox 3.5, but after trying out the new geolocation feature, this just blew my mind:
According to Firefox, I’m currently in the Washington, D.C. area. In reality, I’m in Cali, Colombia. Really, Firefox? A few cities away I can understand. But a whole country? A whole CONTINENT?
I have no idea if the culprit is Firefox’s system, or my ISP giving bogus info. Then again… Speedtest.net says I’m in Venezuela, but at least that’s just one country away.
Has Firefox’s geolocation been successful to you? How accurate or far off is it?
